Happy Coffee is a campaign to support fair traded coffee. Find information about coffee, coffee makers and background information on coffee products.
Our German website is already filled with lots of information. We are currently working on the English version. So please be patient and ome back soon.
Happy Coffee is more than just providing information on coffee products. We also care about critical topics like child labor, the change of market prices and infrastructure in coffee growing countries and more.
Fair Trade
Happy Coffee sells Fair Trade certified coffee to it´s German customers. With this coffee, people help making the world a bit better. Our coffee beans are perfect to be used in coffee machines. The Happy Coffee beans are fair traded, i.e. it is traded for a minimum price of US$ 1,40 per pound. This guarantees the coffee farmers in papua new guinea a minimum chance to exist with their own coffee business.
In addition, Fair Trade pays a premium of US$ 0,30 per pound for all farmers taking part in the initiative. Fair Trade does not necessarily mean that your coffee is more expensive. In most cases, the volatility in market prices does not even affect consumer prices. Therefore it is important to buy coffee with the fair trade symbol.
HOAC
Happy Coffee works in partnership with the Highland Organic Growth Cooperative (HAOC) in the eastern highlands in Papua New Guinea. Located in the region Okapa/Purosa, HOAC is a cooperative of more than 2000 coffee markers and their families. The coffee beans are grown organically. Afterwards they are packed and imported to Germany where Happy Coffee resells the coffee over this platform.
